Difficulties with Melting and Freezing Snow

So with the end of winter approaching the snow melts during the day when the sun is up and then freezes over towards the end of the day and through the night. This causes the ground outside essentially to be a giant ice cube. Being honest it’s not too bad of an issue for us but it makes walking very difficult.

In the morning when we take the dogs out, it’s almost like a comedy watching us slip and slide around trying to pick up their poop. But by lunch the snow has started to melt again and then our feet sink into the ground.

I guess it’s just the challenges that come with living in such a weather crazy place. At least during the summer it’s not as hot as the rest of Japan.

The current issue we have with the snow as well is that it’s melting all in the wrong places… The walls that we created with the huge influx of snow are melting but also have damaged our fencing around the dog run. So now we have to be extra careful when the dogs are outside as they can easily jump over the barrier.

Perhaps my goals for the next few days will be to clear some of the snow around the boundary of our home. But we shall see because again half of the day the ground is basically ice so cutting through it, is rough.

In any case i’ll keep you all posted on how things are progressing as it comes.

Until the next one.
